On 16 April 2026, InDiCo-Global convened the second meeting of its Stakeholders Group in Brussels, bringing together representatives from European industry associations, standardisation-related initiatives, and civil society organisations. The meeting took place at the European Commission DG CONNECT premises.
The session opened with a welcome address and introductions, followed by a presentation on InDiCo-Global’s high-level strategy objectives and the role and benefits of the Stakeholders Group. The group’s objectives, as presented, are to identify synergies and common interests in international ICT engagements, set priorities to leverage each other’s networks, foster exchange and coordination around capacity-building events, and build avenues for inclusive, cooperative processes to develop global ICT standards that support EU values.
The main part of the morning was dedicated to an overview of the InDiCo-Global work programme, structured by geography. The seven regions covered by the project were presented in turn — African Union, China, Eastern Partnership, India, Latin America and the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and the Western Balkans — with an update on ongoing and planned activities in each region. Stakeholders were invited to provide feedback on the action plan and express potential interest in involvement.
Following a coffee break, stakeholders shared activities in the regions covered by the project and explored possible synergies with InDiCo-Global’s work programme.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on next steps. These include developing a consolidated overview of areas of mutual interest, targeted stakeholder engagement on a per-activity basis, and joint promotion and dissemination, where relevant. The next Stakeholders Group meeting is planned for after the summer.
