In January 2026, InDiCo‑Global convened the kick-off meeting of its Stakeholder Group, marking an important step in strengthening international cooperation on digital standardisation, policy alignment, and capacity building.
The Stakeholder Group brings together representatives from European industry associations, standardisation bodies, societal stakeholders, SME representatives, research initiatives, and EU-funded projects. Its role is to provide strategic guidance to the project, flag emerging opportunities and challenges in targeted geographies, and support durable cooperation beyond the project’s lifetime.
A forum for exchange on collaboration with a wide range of regions and communities
During the meeting, participants discussed the project’s geographic priorities and thematic focus areas, including data protection and privacy, cybersecurity, digital identity, AI governance, accessibility, and emerging digital technologies. Particular attention was given to ongoing and planned engagement in regions such as Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, the Western Balkans, India, and China, where alignment with EU digital standards and values presents both opportunities and challenges.
The discussion highlighted the importance of assessing the relevance and applicability of European standardisation approaches to local contexts, while maintaining a strong focus on inclusiveness, trust, and human-centric digital transformation. Participants shared insights from their own international activities, identifying areas where coordination and joint outreach could create synergies and amplify impact.
What comes next
Looking ahead, InDiCo-Global will establish a dedicated information-sharing space for Stakeholder Group members and circulate a consolidated overview of planned activities. A face-to-face meeting in Brussels will be planned, where a more detailed work programme will be presented and discussed.
By fostering open dialogue and sustained collaboration, the Stakeholder Group is expected to play a key role in shaping InDiCo-Global’s outreach, ensuring that project activities remain responsive to stakeholder needs and contribute to long-term international alignment on digital standards.
